For the past two years I have been documenting the new construction, as a photographer in residence, at the Asheville Art Museum. I’ve won an award or two (was a finalist in the inaugural Canon Imagin8tion Project with Ron Howard) and produced a movie based on stories my father wrote. I shoot photos for some really cool clients (a Fortune 300 company or two) and provide pro bono creative work to nonprofits like Friends of The Smokies. Organizations hire me to speak about leadership, creativity and communications (www.thepeak1group.com). I am a graduate of the NC Outward Bound School’s 45 Day Outdoor Leadership program (it rained most of the time!) and learned a thing or two about storytelling, while receiving a masters in depth psychology, from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Work takes me across the country and around the world but I always return to the hometown I share with the tall guy who wrote Look Homeward Angel. Asheville, NC is where I get my creative mojo.
